How to choose a reception desk?

The reception counter is the main element of the reception area. Its choice should therefore not be random. Dimensions, accessibility standards, architectural constraints, design, comfort... Here are some tips to think of everything!

Analyse the needs

A high or low reception desk, modern or classic, compact or imposing... There are many types of reception desks. To choose the right one, you first need to answer a few essential questions:

How much space is available (dimensions of the reception area)?
Are there any restrictions as to architecture (poles, connections, etc.)?
Would you like to furnish a waiting room with benches and armchairs, displays, magazine racks or display products?
How many visitors do you receive on an average day?
Are you also receiving members of the public? In that case, the regulations concerning Persons with Reduced Mobility (PRM) must be taken into account.
What impression do you want to convey to your visitors?
Are there any colour restrictions (related to the company or franchise, etc.)?
How many people will sit and work behind the reception desk?
What office and computer tools will they use?
What storage space do they need (type and volume)?
What will be their tasks, how long and how often will they work there?

A well-chosen reception desk will make it possible to better manage the flow of visitors and, at the same time, increase staff productivity! Answering these questions will give you a more global view of the space, its problems and needs.

As it is the first element to be discovered by visitors on arrival, the reception area must reflect the existing atmosphere of the company and above all make a good impression! Materials, finishes, shapes, colours... The choices are numerous and the combinations infinite.

Important :

L-shaped base: functional, elegant and practical. This type of base is definitely making a comeback! It offers a bit of privacy when you need to be alone to talk to a visitor and also hides a maximum of electrical wires.
Rectangular bases: simple, compact, ideal for small spaces.
C-shaped bases: very open, ideal for a large number of visitors.
O-shaped bases: the round form radiates class. Only suitable for large rooms.

Colours:
Make sure the interior is stylish. Avoid a look that contrasts too much with the general atmosphere: the reception should fit in with the rest of the building to convey the company's identity. Many colours are possible, so do not hesitate to ask for a sample before ordering.
LED lighting: the finishing touch
There's nothing like a bit of lighting to make a dazzling first impression! To give a reception desk a bold, modern look, choose a model with integrated LED lighting.
Connections :
