Detailled description

Break the habit of losing everything.

The AirTag (2nd generation) now has its most powerful speaker to date and an optimized Precision Finding range to help you locate your items more easily than ever before. Attach one to your keys. Slip another into your bag. And find all your belongings in the Find My app.

A sound. And it's found. Panic when you misplace your wallet? With AirTag, that's a thing of the past. Go to the new Items tab in the Find My app and make the corresponding AirTag play a sound—or say, "Hey Siri, where's my wallet?" The built‐in speaker of the AirTag then emits a beep. If it's hiding nearby, under a cushion or in the next room, just follow the sound.

The Find My app requires iOS 14, iPadOS, or macOS Catalina (or later). Your device must be connected to iCloud using your Apple ID. Some features are not available in all countries or regions. The enhanced Precision Finding function works with the AirTag (2nd generation) paired with an iPhone Air or an iPhone 15 or later (excluding iPhone 16e). Availability varies by region. The Precision Finding feature on Apple Watch requires an Apple Watch Series 9 (or later) or an Apple Watch Ultra 2 (or later) with watchOS 26.2.1.

How does it work? Your AirTag emits a secure Bluetooth signal that can be detected by nearby Find My network devices.
These devices send the location information of your AirTag to iCloud. You can then go into the Find My app and view it on a map. Anonymity is maintained throughout the process, and data is encrypted to protect your privacy. And since this system is very energy and data efficient, there's no need to worry on that front.

With Lost Mode, finding something is even easier. As with all your other Apple devices, Lost Mode can be activated on an AirTag. If it's detected by a network device, you automatically receive a notification. You can also set it to send your contact information to the person who finds your AirTag and connects it with an NFC-enabled smartphone—the same technology that lets you make purchases with your phone.

Privacy is not optional. You are the only person who can locate your AirTag. Your data and location history are never stored on it. Devices that relay location information about your AirTag also maintain their anonymity, and this data is encrypted at each step of the process. This means that no one, not even Apple, can know the position of your AirTag, nor know which device helped locate it. With an AirTag, no one can track you without your knowledge. If another person's AirTag finds its way into your belongings, your iPhone detects it and informs you. After a while, if you haven't found it yet, that AirTag will start playing a sound to alert you of its presence. But of course, if you're with a friend or colleague who owns an AirTag, or if you're on a train with other people equipped with AirTags, no worries: these alerts are triggered only if an AirTag is separated from its owner.

The casing of the latest AirTag contains 85% recycled plastic, and its packaging is made from 100% fiber.
