The coffee is freshly roasted and ground near the Rhine. The ground coffee is first compressed into a ball, then coated with a natural protective layer. The protective layer preserves the coffee's aroma even after opening the packaging and provides stability to the coffee ball.
The variety designation is laser-marked onto the coffee ball without any printing ink. During the percolation process, this mark becomes moist and eventually becomes invisible. The ball is 100% compostable at home and will decompose within a few weeks in a humid environment.
An ecological and recyclable cardboard packaging with a thin protective film shields the coffee balls from oxygen and moisture. Additionally, the coffee balls are packaged under a protective atmosphere to ensure an intact delight throughout the shelf-life.
Furthermore, the same rules as for freshly ground coffee apply: after opening, it is recommended to store the coffee balls in a dry place at room temperature or in a refrigerated environment. This way, they can be kept for up to three months after opening.
